This page is a reflection of other experiences I have had during my time at Emory & Henry including my trip to Trinidad and Tobago, conferences, or anything else I think is worth noting. Enjoy!
Habitat for Humanity International: Trinidad and Tobago
During the summer of 2015 (between my freshman and sophomore years) I had the opportunity of traveling to Trinidad and Tobago with a great group of people to build a home for a large family in a small town known as Tuna Puna. I cannot possibly sum up what that trip meant to me in words. I truly believe it is the most worthwhile thing I have done in my life. I got close with some of my fantastic classmates and faculty members, experienced a new culture, and got to participate in giving a family a home. It was an amazing experience and an emotional roller coaster. I learned a lot about myself and life in general and learned the meaning of paying it forward. This is a concept I strive to do everyday. I have lived my life in a new light since then and could not have been blessed with a better experience. Below I will include a video from our trip that involves a tune from Michael Jackson that gained a lot of meaning during the trip. "If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make the change". We have to be the change we want in the world. Hopefully this video may inspire you or at least let you understand what we accomplished. I will also include some photos from the trip of the gorgeous country including beaches, jungles, and the amazing family we met. Enjoy!
